James Keelaghan needs no introduction to western audiences. The Calgary native has been touring the west for more than three decades and has been to just about every town between Winnipeg and Victoria. Jez Lowe occupies much the same position in the UK that James does in Canada, a popular veteran singer-songwriter widely respected across the British Isles.

Old friends and musical colleagues of many years, the duo has toured on both sides of the Atlantic in a fully collaborative show that has each artist performing his material with the help of the other. Think Tommy Makem & Liam Clancy.

James Keelaghan

“Canada’s finest songwriter” - Dave Marsh, Rolling Stone

Throughout a career that spans almost four decades, the Juno and Canadian Folk Music Award winner James Keelaghan has created a repertoire of incalculable importance – a unique body of work, either inspired by or drawn from the folk tradition. Ten solo albums flush with enduring lyrical relevance.

A relentless musical spirit, Keelaghan has surrounded himself with a variety of crackerjack companions down through the years, including Oliver Schroer, Oscar Lopez, and Hugh MacMillan. There have been several mouth-watering collaborations in the writing department, too. Celebrated names in the folk world such as Karrine Polwart, Jez Lowe, Catherine MacLellan, David Francey, Lynn Miles, Dave Gunning, Cara Luft and J.D. Edwards all contributed to notable Keelaghan releases.

Jez Lowe

Award-winning songwriter, novelist, and one of the busiest and most admired performers on the UK folk scene, Jez Lowe is celebrating forty five years as a touring singer, songwriter and musician.

You may have heard Lowe’s songs on albums by Fairport Convention, The Dubliners, The Unthanks, Wizz Jones, The Young Uns, The Tannahill Weavers, Megson, Bob Fox, The McCalmans, Liam Clancy, Cherish The Ladies, and many, many more. Or maybe you’ve heard one of the fifty or more songs he wrote for the award-winning BBC Radio Two series “The Radio Ballads".
Jez has just released his fifteenth album of original songs entitled “Oubliette” and it’s already being heralded as a classic by folk radio presenters, reviewers and, most importantly, listeners all over the world.
