"The combination of quality music, strong lyrics that speak to kids, and respect for young audience was a real hit with children and parents.” - Vancouver International Children’s Festival
"Global Dance Party" wastes no time putting bodies in motion, opening with a call to flamenco style hand percussion before launching into a musical safari through the animal kingdom. Kids are invited to stalk and pounce like a cat, spring into the sky alongside ravens, and dive like a great blue whale. The show’s blend of globally-inspired rhythms and playful, movement-driven storytelling reflects Chris’ gift for turning a singalong into a lesson in wonder.
“It's so fun to share these global styles with kids, and I feel so lucky to have the best band on the planet, that can take any musical turn on a moment’s notice!” says Chris, joined by his bandmates from 3x JUNO Award-nominated Sultans of String. “With Kevin on guitar, Saskia on fiddle, and Drew on bass, we can take a musical journey right around the world!"
Chris' credentials speak to a career built on both artistry and impact. A Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal recipient, two-time JUNO nominee, and multiple Canadian Folk Music Award winner, he has performed for more than a million children across North America and has appeared on Mr. Dressup, YTV’s Treehouse, and CBC. "Little Leaf", his most recent full length album, earned him a 2026 JUNO nomination for Children's Album of the Year.
“Many have tried but none have come as close to capturing what it means to truly celebrate multiculturalism as Chris McKhool.” - City Parent
