The two cellists Leonard Disselhorst and Bryan Cheng are old friends and united by their desire to transcend the boundaries of traditional classical literature. After decades of concert experience and international tours as two of the most in-demand solo and chamber musicians of their generation, they decided in 2020 to subsequently also work together as a recognized duo. As the Berlin-based CelloFellos, they immerse themselves in the worlds of jazz, tango, folk and other international dance influences. All pieces are arrangements or compositions by their own hand, and their “Global Grooves” programme spans across centuries and continents, from ancient Chinese melodies to traditional Balkan folk tunes, all the way to newly-penned contemporary pop.

Their intoxicatingly exhilarating and moving performances have led to debut and return invitations from many of the most renowned presenters, festivals, and orchestras in Europe, such as the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Heidelberg Spring, Beethovenfest Bonn, Kronberg, and Verbier Festivals.
