Gather with a supportive community of both established and newbie musicians and take your turn at the mic. Play your original tunes or fav cover songs; bring your own instruments or be welcome to try our grand piano; or just come to cheer on others and appreciate the music. Enjoy the cozy and intimate cabaret-style seating, bring friends, and test the performing waters in this friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Hosted by the local singer-songwriter, Julie Chang. All ages welcome!

Co-hosted by Julie Chang and special guest Sandy Lecour
artsPlace welcomes performers and audience members of all abilities to their events. During Disability Celebration Week, we especially encourage members of the disability community to join in — to sing, speak, perform, or simply enjoy the show and cheer others on.
This event is open to everyone: artists, athletes, performers, and allies alike, but open mic performances are reserved for those sharing their stories through the arts: i.e. singing, dancing, poetry etc.
This event is free, donations welcome. artsPlace is wheelchair accessible and has accessible washrooms. Our cabaret-style setup will be thoughtfully arranged to ensure comfort and ease of access for all. We will have an earlier start time of 6:30pm, with doors open and sign-up beginning at 6:00pm.
Join us for a unique and inclusive evening of music, storytelling, and community.
Events are happening all over town between December 3–10, surrounding the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which is officially observed on December 3. For more information, please visit the Town of Canmore website.
