Passchendaele

We'll be screening Passchendaele (2008), the award-winning war drama written, directed by, and starring Paul Gross. Inspired by his grandfather's First World War experiences, the film follows a Canadian soldier through one of the conflict's most devastating battles. Filmed in Calgary, Fort Macleod, and Belgium, Passchendaele is a moving tribute to the courage and sacrifice of Canadian soldiers. Winner of five Genie Awards, including Best Picture, and the Golden Reel Award as Canada's top-grossing film of 2008, it remains one of Canada's most celebrated war films.
